There is no joy in Camelot

Merlin went to a 100 gl. display tank. They were going to give me credit, but I wanted to make sure that he had a right home, and that display tank was great. You can by corals out of it, bu the fish or for looks only. I have not see a Mandrian around here for more than like 10 bucks, but...

There is no joy in Camelot

Exactly, I just couldn't sit back and watch him suffer, and I hated calling all this place trying to find a good home for him, and them all saying, it only costs 10 bucks, why don't you just wait awhile and see what happenes. I was like, I am not going to sit back and see if he makes it...

There is no joy in Camelot

Well after a nice long month, I decided that it would be best to find a better home for my baby Mandrian, Merlin. I had rescued him from the Petstore that had no live rock for him to feast on, thinking that I might just have what it takes. But he was starting to get a little skinny after...

    what should i use?

Does live rock actually "grow". I have just kept my water levels very well, and just feed my fish, and I have little things growing everywhere. The fs that UI bought it at said it didn't add anything, that they just let the lights do the job and all that other stuff like coral-vital and stuff...

Little tiny starfish good or bad

What do you usually feed your Mandarin??? I have like 30# of LR and I still don't think that is enough, so I am looking at LS, but I don't know if it would work hard enough.

    Steve TESTS RESULTS

Get you pH up to at least 8.0, some fish are very picky about the pH, I have had quite a few go into fits when the pH got low. ~~Megan

    picky,picky eaters

My clown eats about everything, I usually fed frozen brine, and blood. I tried to get the formula one stuff for my angel, and the rest, but NONE of them will touch it. They also sometimes pick at the algea in the veggie clip, but mostly like their frozen food.

Little tiny starfish good or bad

Yes, they could have come from the rock, but that is quite a lot of baby starfish. Are you sure that they are starfish? If you don't want all of them, I would love to have at least one. It would be so cute!!

    Clowns

I also had a clown do that, I picked up a med that came in a little capsule, that you treat in the water as if he had a visible disease. I can't remember the name, but it listed alot of syptoms, and one was to get fish to eat again. It worked in a few days and he was fine. The fish staying at...

thin film on top of water

Do water changes with filtered water, or test your tap for phos. The water changes will lower phos. and get rid of the algea. ~~Megan

Thanks for the help, and "Can I Do This?"

It sounds like you are finally on the right track, congradulations!!! In my experience, my coral banded was a mean guy, and was picking on fish much bigger than him, but at the same point, they ate all the other shrimp. If you wanted to get any other shrimp, the coral and it more than likely...

    What a "DIP"

I heard that 2-5 minutes was okay, you kinda just gotta look at the fish, what condition it is in, if it is very sick, you wouldn't want to risk too much shock. I was told that you also have to make the pH about 8.0 by using baking soda. ~~Megan

    help?

My coral banded was a nasty fellow, he would bite at fish twice his size, and they never picked on him. My lfs said it would probably be better not to get any other shrimp with the coral banded, but I think if you got a shrimp you would have the best luck with the cleaner and coral doing...

Dean fish and Film on top w/smell

I would maybe try a few water changes, like 10% each week, to help clean out the film, and dead fish smell. What is your ammonia like?? Sometimes that can give off a bad smell if it is really high.
