    How long can they survive?

Thanks TJ, I happened to be able to get the new light hood exchanged the night after it happened, and it seems like everything is okay. One of my flower corals is still sluggish, but I think it will do fine. ~~Megan

    What do you feed angelfish?

Do you feed your angel any greens? They must have algae sheets or some other type of green recommended with extra vitaims in order to maintain a balanced diet. If you have not been feeding the algae or have enough growing in your tank, more than likely your angel has HLLE. (lateral Line...

    How long can they survive?

Last night, one of the sockets in my lighting hood stopped working, leaving one light. This morning none of the lights in the hood work, but the lights are still good. Obviously I don't have enough light to support my bubble tip, mushrooms and two flower corals. How long can they last with out...

    1 clowns lost his smile

It is a possibilty. Maybe try and reestablish the weaker in a few days, and if the strong is still causing problems, put the stronger in the QT, and maybe move a few things, like you just got a new fish to give the weaker a chance to build its territory. ~~Megan

My dottyback isn't so aggressive, he just looks that way with his sharp teeth. I also read that sharpnosed were the more peaceful, she wasn't that agressive, she a very strong swimmer and I guess I couldn't give her enough space in my 25 gl. When she ate a fire shrimp and attacked my clown and...

Angel, My puffer and my scooter are no longer in the same tank. My puffer is a spotted sharpnose, and she would always pick at the fish in my community tank, i.e. bleeny, clowns, eat my shrimp and snails. (She was very docile when she was young, but after a while she picked a new gang out and...

    NEW FISH TROUBLE

I add my Zoe straight to the water in my tank, and it seems to have worked nice. My mushrooms are more colorful, and my flower coral comes out a lot more and my fish do seem a more vivid color and for some reason my water seems clearer, but it makes green algea grow faster on the glass. (about...

    Cleaner Wrasse

Cleaner Wrasses will eat other food, but the food that will sustain them for a long period of time is the parasties. In the wild there are so many fish to clean teh cleaner can survive by constantly looking for new fish to clean. In captivity, these guys will do what they need to do to survive...

    Scooter Blenny

I LOVE my scooter blenny!!! I don't have sand he sleeps in a hole in my live rock. He doesn't need special food, just brine shrimp and blood worms or anything that you want and stuff off your rock, you just have to make sure that he can get to the food. I usually have to bury a cube in the...

    Eels

A snowflake eel will grow over 3 feet long and about 6 inches thick. (think of a full size boa constictor) They will eat anything that fits in their mouth, including your red hawk. They are masters of escaping their tanks, which of course, if not found quickly will die out of water. If you...

    Aggresive versus Community Tank

When I had my aggressive tank, I was always trying to "brak up" fights between the fish. No matter what I did, one fish was always more aggressive than all the others. With my community, all the fish get along and I don't have to worry that I am stressing an individual out too much by having...

    Now taking new fish suggestions

Does your Manderian have enough to eat. I tried keeping one in a matured 25 gl tank with 35 pounds of LR and it was no where near enough food in the tank for the little guy to eat. Most people don't recommend keeping a Manderian in a tank with less than 100lbs of live rock.

    10g...heheh

I have found that the pH is the hardest to keep stable in my 6gl. The water does need to be changed often, since things can go wrong fast. It really keeps you on your toes at first, but once you get the hang of how you need to keep things in check, it gets a lot more relaxing. Good Luck! ~~Megan

    Why does it look dirty?

When was the last time that you had a water change? I would definetly change the water, especially if it has a bad odor. What is your ammonia level at? Check that, as lots of times ammonia spikes have an odor to it. ~~Megan
