    Cycled Already?

It sounds like it already cycled, mine went really fast as well. I might be careful after awhile with your fish and the scooter blenny. It might work, but he might have a bit of a time trying not to get picked on. But I do have a question for you. When I had my maderian and scooter bleeny...

    Shrimps

Absolutly, you would need more live rock than that, to keep even one Manderian. I tried to keep one with 25-30# but it wasn't even close to enough. You need at least 50# for one, and that might not be enough if it only eats copeds.

    Mandarine fish question?

I know that I don't know very much about alot of this stuff, and sometimes I am misinformed, but this I am sure of. It isn't actually poisonious in the common, it is just a replent in the slim from the skin that makes fish deject them as a food source, or anything else that you put the slime...

WHY CAN'T DOGS BE MORE LIKE FISH??

I am very sorry Steve. When I was younger, we found some stray kittens that someone had abonded, that hadn't been even weaned yet. We took them and found homes for two and kept two for ourselves. We had a doggie door for our dog, so the cats could go out just like the dogs could, so they...

    got new fish

You need to get some Ammoquil to detox the ammonia, and some bacteria in the bottle with cured liveroc ASAP in order to get the ammonia down to at least 1 ppm. They will be stressed even at that level, but they should be okay if all are healthy.

What can you use to help injured fish?

My domino attacked my yellow tails as well, for the fins and tails, just add some vitamins and stress coat, adn they will grow back. When my yellow tail had scaled missing, he was not able to get better and died from the wound he had on his side from the domino. I would try new fishes, find...

Getting very tempted to use copper!

What I have always done is use alot of different stuff. You can increase the temp to about 84 if you have no corals, and if you add garlic when you feed your fish it will help kill it off your fish and the temp will kill ick in the water. I have never done real hyposalint, I just decrease it...

    Feeding

Most generally it depends on what you feed them, and how much you feed at a time. If you feed flake, 2-3 times a day is the usual in a moderate amount. Frozen is usually once a day in a small amount an live in every other day.

    live rock

I would say probably too much for one tank, but at least for awhile they might work out, so if it is hard to part with them, maybe give it a few weeks, and then look into something else. (I trade in quite a few of my fish because I always want new ones but I don't have the space.) I like to get...

    sick puffer????

My puffer was always in a pout, she can't stand change. Most often she would get like that if the pH was getting too low or high. But you need to act fast because if it isn't that, the hard breathing is the first sign of something more serious sometimes, and after a few days, if not fized...

There is no joy in Camelot

Well, everyone gets one way or the other. I am lucky if I can find a place that will repay you if your fish dies within the first 48 hours. (the fish do not transport very well in Texas, especially during hte HOT summers!) I have been trying to find a decent place to buy live brine in hopes of...

    Copper

So even if it gave short term relief by getting rid of a parasite suck as ick, it is actually more harmful to the over all health of fish, not to mention a pain because it stays in everything it touches, i.e. substrate, tank, water, rock. If there are so many bad after effects, why does...

Little tiny starfish good or bad

I have not heard of mysis shrimp to feed, so I have not tried that, but my manderian would only eat copeds.

    Copper

Since I was little I was always told not to throw coins into fish ponds because the copper in the coins would kill the fish. I know in the past people would throw a coin into their tank so that the copper would treat their fish, but I thought that it was just an old wives tale, and wouldn't...

    How to Move tank

All I know is that my fish became very sick when I painted in my house, and I had to work double time to get them better. Burning strong scented candles by the tank can even kill your fish. (has happened to me) I guess they could jsut be freak accidents, but I have not done well with smells and...

    How to Move tank

Also watch out because the paint fumes can kill your fish. When I painted my room, I had to leave all windows in house open, and huge fans sucking air away from the tank to keep the smell away as much as possible. Because the fumes are toxic, and their lungs are so small, it can easily kill...
