Came home tonight from work to find my yellow sinularia had came loose and went thru the power head.

Most of the hair has died. I continue to do a 10% water change each week. I checked my numbers before the water changer last night and everything looks good. Could the hair be part of my cycle?

I tested the water 2 nite. PH 8.4 Nitrite 0 Nitrate 0 Amonia 0 The hair is on everything!!! I have stopped using the lights except for the moon light. I would think with all this hair I would see some difference in the readings, but they are the same as last week??

Thanks - It is an Oceanic 14G Bio cube with two different lights. I run the lights for about 6-8 hours a day.

First water change -- Should I mixt the distilled water w/ salt and then put it in the tank?

Headed to the LFS last evening. Picked up two red leg crabs for the tank.

It has been 11 days since the start. My current water readings are: PH 8.4 Nitrite 0 Nitrate 0 Ammonia 0 The only thing that has change was the PH moved from 8.2 to 8.4. Also the brown alage or diatoms. Things seem to be going very slow...

I tested the water on Tuesday night before the alage and the ammonia was 0.0. I plan on testing again 2nite to see if anything has changed.

Thanks - I was told to do NO water changes until it cycled from the LFS???
