    Oceanic 58 Pics?

This is an older pic of my 58 gallon reef ready. It has a lot more stuff in it now. It looks completely different now, I moved about a month ago, so it got a face lift. Good luck with yours.

Lighting Required for Low Maintenance Corals?

If I remember correctly chili corals don't host zooanthelea (sp?). They extend their polyps at night, so you will have to feed DT's. Someone with a little more experience with the coral might have better info. Good luck.

Question about my fungia, and a ID of an sps.

This is an SPS I got from a lfs for free, because it was starting to bleach. It has since healed and started to color up a lot. It's hard to tell from the pic, but it's a burnt orange color with green tips. It's really cool in person. Anyone have any ID for me? I'm pretty sure it's some type of...

Question about my fungia, and a ID of an sps.

This is a pic of my new fungia. It looks as though it is showing some skeleton in a couple of spots. Otherwise I think it looks pretty good. Do you think it will heal okay?

    Tense Day

The tornado missed my house by a couple of miles. It missed my uncles house by a half mile. A couple of other people I know weren't so lucky. No one was hurt, but parts of their homes were destroyed. They weren't completely leveled just gaping holes where the roof and walls once were. My power...

do u know what this fish is?

No, I wouldn't get it. I forgot to mention that they need at least a six inch sand bed. I would go with a goby of some sort. HTH.

    Thoughts on a pavona coral.

Would this be a good SPS for me to start with? These are more of an encrusting coral aren't they? My lighting is a 175 watt MH, 96 watt PC, 2 55 watt PC's. I plan on upgrading to a 250 watt MH when I get some cash. I curently have LPS, so I keep calcium at 450ppm, kh 10, ph 8.3. The tank is a 58...

do u know what this fish is?

I have one of those. They are commonly called black cap jawfish or tiger jawfish. They require a tight fitting lid, as they are jumpers. The one I have is a perminant resident of my refugium. He kept jumping into my overflow, so I just left him down there. Since he's been down there I haven't...

I am such a dork. But, how many of you try and impress opposite sex with your reefs?

I've heard that works very well. Now if only I actually talked to women. Maybe I'm just self conscious about whether or not my tank is big enough:p

I'm thinking about a pearlscale butterfly.

Thank you for the replies. I difinitely considered how sensitive butterflies are, thus the light stocking. I am curious if I should add the butterfly before I add a bi-color angel, so that it will establish it's territory before the angel. I figured it would be ok just wanted some ideas. Thanks...

I'm thinking about a pearlscale butterfly.

I am going to change my 55 gal fw over to a fowlr. I was thinking of adding a school of 5 or so green chromis and adding a pearl scale six to seven months down the road. Do you think that would be long enough to let the tank establish? I don't want to rush it, because I know how sensitive...

    Brittle star question.......Ophira!

I have a 5gal nano at work. I am curious if this would be to small to hold any type of brittle star. I know you have one in a 15gal, and thought that a 5 might be ok for a species only?!? If not I will probably just make it invert only (snails and a shrimp). The tank has around 7 pounds of lr...

    Off-Topic Help please.....

This is Lucky. He is part schipperke and beagle. He is a great dog. I also like Jack Russel Terriers. My brother had one, and it was the most active dog I've ever seen. You just have to be sure to keep an I on them, and always make sure that you keep them on a leash. They were bred as hunting...
