    Do you use heater?

All the lighting on my tank keeps it at 82 degrees. My temp has stayed stable so I haven't gotten a heater yet. It does fluctuate with the seasons a little depending on ambiant room temp. Usually between 80 and 82. Good luck.

    Anemones or Corals

Get a power compact on your aquarium, and stick some hairy shrooms in there. Sometimes they'll host sometimes they won't, whether or not it's an anemone. I've also had luck with xenia. I had a cinnamon clown that would host in virtually anything that had what resembled tenticles. Good luck.

    opinion on skimmer timer

I prefer to keep mine running 24/7. The only thing that's going to happen by turning it off, is you won't be taking out waste. Which might eventually build up over time and raise nitrates. Another option is to buy some earplugs, that is what I ended up doing about the noise in my room. Good luck.

    What's your weirdest hitchhiker?

Hey bang guy, it looks like you got some nice looking porcelin (sp?) crabs there. I've got all the stuff you expect to see on LR, and a few cool things. I've got a deep purple sponge that is spreading through my tank, and a nice size pink encrusting tunicate. I had one of those crabs that live...

    Sump vs. Refugium

A sump is a place to hold your equipment like protein skimmers, heaters, and some like to keep bio-balls. I feel that bio-balls aren't necassary in a reef tank. I prefer refugiums, because they provide a place for my pods to reproduce for my scooter blenny. It also is a place to put macro algea...

Why 2lbs live rock per gallon?

The more rock you put in the tank, the more surface area the bacteria has to colonize on, i.e. better filtration. If you decide that you don't like the look of a rock garden, that's when you might consider other means of filtration, like bio-balls, bio-wheel and so on. Live rock also brings in...

    Setting up a new aggressive.

Thanks for the suggestions:) . Now about the white spotted puffer. You wouldn't be talking about a melegrious (sp) puffer would you? If so it is a beutiful fish, but they cost around $300 at the store I work at. Or are you talking about the guys that stay small 4"-5"? Is it one like this

    Setting up a new aggressive.

I have been keeping a reef tank for around two years now, so I'm not new to saltwater, just to this area. This is my wish list of fish. 1 Mimic lemonpeel tang 1 Kidiko Moray (already have) 2 Cinnamon clowns I'm having a hard time deciding on the last addition. Either it will be a Volitan or...

    Dsb

I've heard that when adding sand you shouldn't add more than 1/2" at a time. Otherwise you will suffocate the organisms beneth the new sand. Good luck.

OT: What is your favorite brew?

Boulevard Wheat and boulevard Pale Ale are two of my favorite local brews. Also a fan of Hiney, Rolling Rock, Corona, and this one is going to sound girly, but Pyramid apricot brew. I'm not a fan of dark beer, so not a big fan of guiness, too thick for me!

Difference between live sand & sea sand?

Anything close to the coast makes the risk of contamination very high. There's no telling what the sand might have in it. Good luck
