    Flame Scallop

I understand, it just seemed like such a no brainer, common sense question. To tell you the truth, these scallops ARE easy to keep, IF you follow everything instructed. To me, there are not many saltwater animals that I would consider "Difficult" or "Expert Only." I keep many, many animals that...

You ain't gonna believe the hitchhiker I found this morn!!!

I am aware that he didn't add it but he said he had live rock for a long time not over a year. Anways it takes months for scallops to starve to death, so what if it's a week old post, the person who posted it will still see what I wrote.

"If, however, you are not feeding mixed phytoplankton and zooplankton of the appropriate size on a regular (and by this I really mean at least daily) basis, adding a flame scallop to your aquarium is quite simply a death sentence for the animal, because it is going to starve to death. If that...

    Protein Skimmer Question

Maybe you should play around with the air valve. I have a Seaclone protein skimmer, I've heard bad things about it but I've found that once you get the air valve at the right point it works great.

    Flame Scallop

Oh yea, and I'd also reccomend using a Calcium supplement to help them grow their shells, this will also benefit snails and giant clams in your tank.

    Confused Maroon ?

I think my 4" gold stripe maroon clownfish is a bit confused. I have a long tentacle anemone and a pink tip haitan anemone in a 50 gallon tank. It's a reef tank with all the odds and ends, hermit crabs, snails, feather dusters, scallops. But my maroon seems to be switching from anemones, one...

I just bought a maroon clownfish and he's hosting the long tentacle anemone, but the tomato clown was in the tank before him and wanted nothing to do with it.

    Tomato Clown hosting question

Does it take a while for clownfish to distinguish itself as an anemones host? I've had a long tentacle anemone and a tomato clown for a couple days now and it seems like the clown hasn't even looked at the anemone yet. Does it take a while? Thanks

You don't need to spend money on crabs. I'm not sure where you live, but i live in New England, and around here, if you go to the beach late at night when it's low tide, you can catch hundreds of crabs, there everywhere. I was just at the beach last saturday and caught about 100 crabs in about...
