    mushrooms are great starters along with kenya trees. mines been through 3 amonia spikes in the beginning and looked to have decinigrated(sp) but kept coming back. xenia works okay if you have nitrate issues...imo

    hey signguy. noticed youre thinking about a 300gal or so. was thinking of one myself. not to hijack your thread, but what are your reasons for going with acrylic instead of glass? was actually thinking about glass myself. guess i should start another thread about pros and cons, eh?

    ive had it about 6 weeks, i think, and it hasnt shed. ive never run carbon in this tank and its been up for about a year and a half. should i try that? the other on sheds about every 10-15 days.

    yeah, i tried to shade it thinking lighting was an issue. it seems to do better at the bottom of the tank, but i will move it again in the morning. can you think of any other reasons? i dont know if some other factors are playing an issue that im unaware of. and you could be right, im not too...
