Do you see them any where else in the tank? It"s normal for polyp"s to do this.

If it's to high,it will look like it's snowing in the tank.I would think that if it's only at 500 it would dissipate fairly quickly,but to lower it just do a water change.

Just a thought,does the tank get any direct sunlight?

Just some light and regular water changes should do you just fine.The rock is probably the easiest thing,in the tank to care for,just takes a little TLC.

Put it on the bottom,in the sand.This is where they will do the best.

I havent added any rock or coral for quite some time. I wish could get a foxface to eat it, but I only have a 46 gal reef tank. I dont seem to be able to keep an emerald crab, as I suspect that my hawkfish makes short work of them. My LFS says to take out the piece of rock that it's mostly on...

Let me start by saying that my tank as been up and going for 3 years,well my problem is all of the sudden i have a out break of bubble algae,i'am just wondering why.My phosphate &silicate's are both at 0,so does anyone have any advice or thoughts.Thank-you.

2 questions,just for starters? 1 is it a new tank 2 are you using RO/DI water?

I could be wrong, but i thing that a FOWLR doesn't really need any additives,just do regular water changes and you should be alright.

Is this a new tank?,when the cycle is done all levels will fall into place,just remeber it is all about patience. As far as lowering your SG just take some of your water out and replace in with just plane water!

This happened to me once,and my LFS said not to worry about it if it's dying it will start to fall apart,and sure enough it was all right after looking sad for 3 or 4 day's.So i hope that it turns out just as good for you!
