    Plan needs critique....

So I'm trying to figure out the best way to fix the situation that I have gotten myself into. I have researched each fish I have individually, and the information that I have gathered on them is as follows: Cortez Rainbow Wrasse Max Size: 6 inches Min. Tank: 55 gallon Snowflake Eel Max Size...

    Need some ideas....

I was looking at the flame hawkfish because I think they are a really cool looking fish but I read that you needed to be careful putting them in a tank with blennys and gobys? Is that not necessarily true? I definitley want a blenny of some sort - most likely a bicolor or midas (my two...

Oh, and no clowns ;) I've already got them in another tank. I'd like a bit of diversity.

    Need some ideas....

I'm planning out another tank. I just finished cycling a 55 - nothing in it yet not even a cuc. Most of the corals that I want in the tank are LPS. I don't have the proper lighting yet so I haven't even begun in that department. What I'm looking for is ideas for a few small reef safe fish...

    Grouper gone crazy....

Normal....oy. I may have to reconfigure my future plans and switch some of the intended tankmates to different tanks. Well as long as it's typical behavior then at least I have no reason to be concerned per se. He's a red v-tail - the one staring down the wrasse in my av (although that was...

    Grouper gone crazy....

I was prepared for the clown trigger to go psycho eventually....but the grouper too? Really? This guy was the last addition to the tank, and is nowhere near the biggest fish in the tank, but has become the biggest bully. For awhile he kept to himself.....more of a hider than anything else...

Ok so if I'm reading right turbo's are astreas right? They are one in the same...so then that is what I had (for awhile at least). What is the difference between a turbo and mexican turbo? Could I tell the difference by their appearance? From what you said the turbo's (astreas) are okay but...

Yeah my bad...those are the margaritas....turbo imposters are already in my other tank (I got pics of him around here somewhere too lol). I get my snails confused. I believe my initial purchase included the margaritas, turbos, nassarius and cerith. I didn't even see astrea's at the lfs...

    Moving right along....and an issue...

Hmm...I guess that could actually be a very likely scenario. When I got them, I was having my first algae bloom in the tank. They did an amazing job, so well in fact that even without them in there, the tank is still pristine. Although the first casualty was within the first hour after I put...

Help me find my xenia's "happy" spot...

I can't seem to find the right spot in the tank to make these guys happy. If I put it in low flow half are open, half are closed. Put it in higher flow - same thing. Same thing for lighting too - half opened/half closed depending on more or less light. I seem to find conflicting information...

I've been changing the floss weekly - guess I'll step that up a bit. I have chemipure and purigen in the first chamber, chaeto and light in the second, heater and return pump in the third. I'm due for a water change in a day or two - I'll siphon out the back chambers with that change. I'll...

Oh and the last of my poor turbo snails (first picture) that I bought for the nano was murdered by the crab who hitch-hiked his way in. After the first incident, I moved what I thought to be all of the rest. I missed one....he didn't....

Also I'm using filter floss to catch debris in the filter in the first chamber. Is there a better spot to put it?

    Moving right along....and an issue...

Alright, a couple of weeks ago I posted a pic of my tank at about 4 1/2 weeks old - cuc only - everything nice and clear.... Since then I've made a few additions: Now if you look I've got this really bad "fuzz" issue going on. At first I thought that it was my ph maybe blowing sand or debris...
