    damsels???

I have a very strong dislike for damsels. The first big mistake I made when starting out in this hobby was starting with them as my first fish. When I realized my error, it was too late - no hope of catching them. I was *secretly* hoping that the predator tank I built around them would...

    Show off your Clowns!

Marc and Cleo.... Ignore the "fuzz"...no spots on the fish lol, I'm just having a sand/dust issue I'm trying to figure out right now.

    What is this...friend or foe?

This one doesn't seem to mind the light....I didn't notice him come out until about an hour after lights on and he was far from any possible hiding places when I caught him

    What is this...friend or foe?

Found him hanging out on the overflow and not sure if it's safe or not to keep in the tank. It seems to be some sort of slug - or shell"less" snail? He's a little smaller than the size of a pea. So is he safe to release or should I dispose of him otherwise?

    Flow in Nano's

Can I get some descriptions/pictures of where you all keep your powerheads for flow in your nano's? It seems that no matter where I place or aim the powerhead I'm getting a dustcloud in the water. I'm only using a koralia nano so I doubt too much flow is the problem - just the positioning...

    What is on this clown?

Well I had just bought him and another home last night. I noticed this while he was in QT. The other fish had nothing wrong with it (visibly) at all. I called the store where I had gotten them and described what I was seeing. Guy at the fish store told me that it was a fungus from wounds...

    What is on this clown?

There are these white, definitley raised and almost fuzzy looking bumps on the back underside of this clown. Visible from both sides. Sorry about the pictures - wish I could have gotten clearer. Other than the bumps, fish is doing great - active, eating. What am I looking at here?

    Turbo Imposter.....

Oh and he has been relocated to the only tank I keep with hermits. :p

    Turbo Imposter.....

So I'm sitting back watching my snails running around the tank - nothing else to see in there yet - and I notice one of the snails moving around a bit oddly. I lift the shell to take a peek and guess what - it's not a snail but a hermit crab. Now all the turbos I bought are still accounted for...

So I finally have this up and going...

Perfect! I just googled "10 watt submersible light" and found exactly what I needed. You'll find the same light offered on quite a few sites....LOOK AROUND because one offers it significantly less than the others ;) Thank you so much! Now I just have to wait for it to get here :)

So I finally have this up and going...

You make it sound so simple :) I actually have all those things on hand except for the light. Now I'm wondering if there may be some sort of small water proof (Or should I say salt water proof) light that i can affix under the hood? There's an available space that I could mount it over the...

So I finally have this up and going...

This was originally supposed to be my first sized sw tank, but I went bigger almost immediately. In any case I've finally got my little one all set up. It's a 12g nano cube, been cycling for a few weeks using some donations from my established tank. Only inhabitants right now are assorted...

    Tons Of Free Equipment!!!

I'm in desperate need of a skimmer that is compatible with my tank. The one I currently have is too big to fit in my sump and too large for the space I've got available to use as an HOB. Right now I'm using it as an HOF (F=Front lol) which not only looks terrible, but I can't close my lid...

    Calling all northeast florida reefers.

I know how you feel...I'm about an hour and a half from you in Ocala (aka Horse Country). If it doesn't have hooves and live in a stable it's just not the norm. Top that off with the fact that I'm a Jersey girl transplant lol. Your a bit far for me, but probably a good thing for you. My...

    Tell me about bioballs....

Hmm....interesting. I've been having a problem with nitrate levels, but dismissed it to a predator tank with no cleanup crew. I never thought about the bioballs. What are some alternatives that might be better options?

    Putting Faces to the Names

Another newbie here that will play along....not the greatest pic either but with four active kiddos I'm always taking the shots not posing for them lol In any case, until I can dig up or get more, you get the basic idea ;) This is me and my baby ~ only difference is that this week he has hair...

    Tell me about bioballs....

And why I wouldn't want them?? I've been reading several posts lately that seem to regard them as a bad thing. I'm currently using a wet/dry with bioballs. So please explain to me why they are not the best option and what some better alternatives may be? Thanks.
