thanx for the advice, i will definatly consider useing distilled for my top offs. and as far as the tang goes, no white spots on him that i can see, but since hes the only fish in the tank, with all the rock work, and since he is still new to the tank, he hides alot.

my coraline algae is spreading to my base rock. are there any suppliments i can add to speed up the process, without triggering a diatom bloom?

no, sadly, where i live, any resources are limited. i was thinking about getting one this summer though. just a small one that would produce like 5 gallons a day or so. but i know several people in my area who use the same tap water as i am, with much sucess. thanx for your help jkvjl

yes tap water, no not well water

i dechlorinate my water for several days before i add read sea salt mix, which has no phosphates, no nitrates. i dont think its water quality though if my inverts are thriving...

im testing my water as well as the lfs. the test kit was new in december. and no, its not being tested by petsmart. yes it is a marine test kit :)

ok thank you. so its the garlic oil im after? i have some minced garlic, will that work? also, the yellow tang is very shy, and scared it seems. hiding almost all of the day. he eats some flake food, and some of the seaweed i feed him. im assuming he grazes on the live rock when he cant see...
