    Ordering Fish Online

One of the things that has most put me off to buying livestock on-line is the minimum order. I just don't feel comfortable stocking $50.00 - $75.00 worth of fish all at once. Now If ever an occasion arose in which I was paying $75.00 for one fish then I'd consider it. However, the fish that I am...

HD Sand / Cloudy Water Q

yup. my 44 was cloudy for about 1.5 weeks after I added my southdown. Just one of those things... gotta wait it out. No matter what you do you'll get the sand storm IMO. Cheers!

    New Additions to our Family

Awesome! I love my Clarkii Loves to dig in the sand... I swear that he is an engineer or something. Or maybe he is just trying to dig out of my tank. Cheers!

    Water changes

I do approx 10% every week or week and a half (depending on my schedule). I agree Reefnut and Jauringer, it is much easier to do one a week then a huge one every month. Cheers!

    hey is this better?

Beth that is awesome, it looks like something out of a magazine! If that is your tank then I am quiting right now. Not really. I'm not gonna quit... but seriously that was beautiful. Cheers!

    Need some help please.

Wow! Those are some detailed directions. I know I wasn't the original poster but those are gonna help me a lot! That is exactly what I want to do with my sump setup. Awesome. Do you mind if I copy those instructions down and maybe use them later on my website? I'd give you credit of course...

    Overflow GPH Question

Thanks for the replies! I think what I'll do is get the mag 9.5 and dump the excess back to the sump via that tee valve. That'll give me something easy to hook my 3/4 flex water change tubing and some flexibility in the future (fuge, Ca reactor... who knows were this will go...). edit: I just...

    Overflow GPH Question

Rough sketch of the plumbing system.... actual measurments are much less than I originally thought! I was just a little concerned as this unit is going to be off to the side of my tank (due to space restrictions and loaction of the tank), not directly under it.

    Overflow GPH Question

vert height is only about 4.5 feet... is that all that should be taken into account when figuring on flow rate for the return pump? Thanks Broomer5! Cheers!

    Main pump

The more water movement the better I've always heard... if you can set the three 1200's up so there is no 'whirlpool' then you should be good to go. Supreme Mag-Drive's are pretty good from what I've read... i too am looking for a return pump. HTH

    Overflow GPH Question

The LFS has one for 62.00 that they say is about 600... do you think that would work? With about a 6 to 7 foot return line I was thinking about a MAG 9 (950GPH)? Any (aside from the long return line, I have no choice about that) comments? Thanks :D

    Overflow GPH Question

I'm looking into building a sump for my 44 pentagon corner tank, what GPH rating should I look at as far as an overflow box is concerned? Thanks!

    How often do you test?

Yeah i'm starting to build a 'container' (which will prob be a wet bar for the living room... ah beer and fish!) for a sump so I can do all the 'wet work' down there (including a kalk drip). My current setup does not have enough room directly under the tank for a sump so I am building something...
