    Snail Choice?

I've had good luck w/ Astrea for glass / rocks and Fighting Conch's for the sand bed. HTH.

Think I traumatized my cinnamon any suggestions?

Did you compare your tests in the main tank to that of the QT? Maybe something was a little different and is causing the fish to freak out. How long has this been going on? If it has only been a day or two give it some more time... if it has been a lot longer there is prob something wrong. HTH

Should I get rid of my cannister?

I use my cannister filter to run pads, carbon and sometimes phosphate sponge. I clean it every week but it is becoming a hassle and I'm not sure if it is worth it. Should I get rid of it, or should I always run carbon / phos. sponge a few days a week? The tank is currently FOWLR and will most...

    in love with monitors

That seems like an awful lot to go through kipass, is it more accurate or have you found that your reg test kits give more or less the same reading? I figured they would be expensive though... the concept just sounded costly :) Cheers!

Thanks kipass I think I will prob go that route (it seems like the simple solution and I'm a big fan of K.I.S.S). Unless I can figure out ReefNut's setup. Reefnut do you have a diagram of your dosing setup? I'm having a hard time picturing that. Does the float valve regulate the drip rate? I'm...

    in love with monitors

Most of the monitors I've seen are PH//temp//salinity Myabe they make a calcium probe and stuff like that. Only because I think they make everything now-a-days. The question would be exactly how much are you willing to pay for one :D Maybe big laboratories have electronic probes that measure...

    what makes sand mounds?

It is most likely just collecting there because of water currents. Do you have a powerhead or anything else moving water in there? My Clarkii likes to dig... but it doesn't seem like you have any fish in there yet :D Cheers!

I don't have a sump  not enough room under my tank :( I know I really should have one.... sigh. So I guess it will have to sit on top of my hood? That isn't very attractive :D

    swf water?

I would not add the water from the shipment bag to the tank. The bag has been through at least a day of shipment without filtration... there would be too much junk to just dump into your tank (IMO). It isn't that hard to not use the water in the bag so why take the risk that something may...

What equipment do you guys use to dose your kalk? I saw dosing pumps online for about 300.00 and I saw a Kent Marine "Aqua Dose" for 19.00, which is much more my speed. Can the Kent Aqua Dose (for those who have it) go under the tank or does it need to be above... I would assume above since...

    cycle question

adding another damsel or a shrimp will create more the need for the tank to produce even more corrective bacteria.... i would try adding a shrimp (no more live fish) and see if that speeds things up. That being said however, each tank will take its own amount of time to cycle. There is no...
