    I have a FOWLR with two (SO) florescent and I was thinking of adding some Metal Halide lights. My question is I have some of those yellow industrial (MH) work lights (150 watts), could I use these for my tank?

    Thanks col, I have some pellets that I feed my hermits but they also always get to them before the shrimp although he does try for them. Is there pellets just for shrimp?

    If the inlet is completely submerged then it doesn’t matter if you leave the filter on. The bubbles are there because it is getting air from the outside. Yes, leave the power head on all the time. HTH

    Does your powerhead have a clear plastic tube comming out from it? If so, then remove it.

    I had the same think happen to me. I started my 55 gal on January 4th and my Ammonia finally went to zero about three weeks ago and I finally have a nitrate reading. All I can think is some of my rock wasn’t cured and that kept the ammonia around. So just be patient.

    I agree with beaslbob it's probably nothing to worry about. Test it again in a day or two I'm sure it will be back to normal.
