There is no better water on the planet than natural salt water from a clean un polluted source. The live natural surf sand would be ideal as well,, but you better check with fish, wildlife and game on legality.

I have read they like to pick at the clam mantles sometimes.. almost to the point to stressing the clam but not to kill it.. You might have to get rid of the CS..
