A water change will temporarily help with your anomia problem, until you find the source. But that will not help with you specific gravity.. its needs to come up to about 1.025-26 with a tank with corals and iverts.. Use the (replace your top-off water with salt water method).

Sepu is 100% correct, Low salinity and especially amonia are the most deadly to snails with Hermit crabs a distant 3rd.. Where is your amonia coming from?
