    Research,research, and more research. This is not something to rush into, that said its very fun. Rt now for you look into cycling a sw tank. Look into live rock, base rock, and argonite sand. For your size tank, look into clown fish,dart fish, gobys, basslets, shrimp and other inverts

    Astrina stars will, but there small. Most stars are eating the bio film off the glass not the alage

    Ok a few things. 1st that is a sleeper headed goby, they filter the sand to eat the micro fauna living in it. In such a new tank there won't be any. 2nd you have a ton of apatasia anemones these are a pest and should be removed. 3rd yes a valentini will eat snails but if kept fed won't eat...

    Agreed w above. The only time you do changes during the cycle is if you jumped the gun and added fish too soon. This creates a soft cycle but takes forever and requires changes from daily to every other day.

    Iam guessing your using a hob filter? If so you can rinse the cartridges in sw to remove alot of the gunk
