    Aquarium safe silicone

GE silicone 1 is pretty good. You have to let it cure for a week at minimum. Has to be pure silicone. No mold and mildew inhibitors. To my knowledge, GE1 still does not.

    Aquarium safe silicone

If it says "safe for aquariums", it's safe for aquariums. It also depends on your project, are you building a tank or are you baffling a sump? Tanks require an adhesive silicone, whereas baffles just need a sealant. I won't waste time finding a link unless you need an adhesive.

    Hobby or money pit?

My daughter loves the fish. She will watch them for an hour or more, which is pretty awesome.

    New 75g Reef Tank

Yep. Sink. I wash dishes before hand and after I'm done, I wipe the sink out with bleach and put a shot of it down the drain.

    Hobby or money pit?

902 square feet with a wife and two kids. I'll move it into the new place and see if it can stay somewhere. If not, I guess I'll just downgrade.

    Hobby or money pit?

A CADlights 18g nano is big enough for my new place, I think. With the upgrades, I think it's worth it. This sucks. I finally get a decent sized tank again and have to move.

    ATO

Sure. I painted mine black. I was also going to have a piece of glass cut to fit most of the top and paint it black too. I don't know what I want to do now.

    ATO

Most people block light from entering the tank to grow algae/bacteria. Others clean the ATO once a month.

Looking to down grade my 29gallon

I like the CAD 18. Red Sea max makes good all in one systems.

    Hobby or money pit?

Where there is life, there is hope. It's not that I don't have the money. Lol. We work full time and I have a decent budget. My priorities are just changing. I still want the tank. I'm just,... Blah.

    Base rock question

Bleach dissolves organics, which can be on or within the rock, which can be removed after a good soak in it and a couple of water changes. Muriatic acid will eat through and dissolve any organics, including freeing up inorganic phosphates. It will also turn calcium carbonate rock into soup...

    Base rock question

There's a bunch of ways to clean it. Some people soak it in bleach for a month. Others soak it in muriatic acid for less than an hour. Some people, like me, rinse the dust off and add it to the tank and deal with any algae that arises from it. Just depends on your time, money and resources.

    Hobby or money pit?

Oh, I'm moving because im having another kid and need a three bedroom for all of our sanity. I rent right now, and it will be nice to own something. When you rent, there is no end in sight and you end up paying someone else's mortgage. By buying, we actually save money each month. Lol

    Hobby or money pit?

Sometimes life gets in the way of hobbies. I have another kid on the way and money will get tight again for another two years or so. I got approved for that trailer. Woohoo! One step closer to moving in the country and building a house. I'm thinking about selling off the tank and stand and...
