Anemone in parents tank shriveled up!help!

I need to know about your parents tank. Water parameters, how long it has been set up, tank mates, lighting, waterflow. When did they last feed it? What did they feed it. Did it eat.

How many fish in a BioCube 29 Gallon

I think a pair of Clownfish would be something that could do well and also something you would enjoy. Skip the Anemone for now, they do not need an Anemone and they usually die for new hobbyists. By usually I mean 98% of the time. After some time, if the Clownfish are doing well, go ahead and...

How many fish in a BioCube 29 Gallon

My general advice for new hobbyists is 1" of fish (adult size) per 5 gallons of display tank. That's about a pair of Clownfish. If you are experienced then you can take the behavior of the fish into account. The Watchman is fine but it will destroy the fauna in the live sand bed. The Gramma...

How many fish in a BioCube 29 Gallon

Not too bad, maybe a little overstocked. Just FYI - Fire Fish only shoal as juveniles. When they mature in a couple years they will begin to fight and in a 29 gallon tank there's nowhere for the losers to go.

    Cause for concern?

some meaty seafood wrapped in some nylon or cotton fiber. They can get caught in the fibers while trying to get to the meat.

    Cause for concern?

It does appear to be one of the very few Bristleworms that can eat coral. I would still give it the benefit of any doubt and wait to see if you notice any damage. It will not harm any fish unless they attempt to eat it.

    Whole house water filter?

harmless for drinking or bathing. Deadly if you're a water heater.

    Whole house water filter?

There's been a battle in a lot of locations over this. The mission of these regulatory agencies is to ensure the water is safe for consumption. Nothing to do with color, clarity, or how it damages appliances.

    Whole house water filter?

Snake, if you're getting a water softener do that first. My understanding is that it may pull out all of those iron ions that are making your water brown. You may not need additional filtration to get the water clear.

    Sump return line question

Even anti-siphon holes need to be checked periodically to remove any buildup. Although they fail far less frequent than check valves they are still not foolproof.

    Sump return line question

If you have room to handle the couple inches then there's no need for the anti siphon holes. A note on the check valve - two or three years down the line you will forget to clean it during your weekly maintenance and that will be the day the power goes out. Saltwater critters LOVE check valves...
