Im in my 4th week of cycling

Without a picture I can only guess on the white spots. If they're crawling on the glass, rocks or sand bed they could be Amphipods. If they're swimming through the water column they could be Copepods.

    Identify this....

I've heard that they do but I don't have any personal experience with them.

    Sumps

If it was the question about using lava rock, I read it and responded with my opinion. Others may have a different take on it though.

    Lava Rock

Lava rock can be a mixture of many types of metals and minerals. I wouldn't trust it myself.

    New to hobby

Astrina's are reputed as hitchhikers. Finding them online or in LFS is going to be a near impossible task. Like imforbis said, you should consentrate on getting rid of the Aiptasia. I would advise taking all the fish back to your LFS. With all those Aiptasia, it won't be long before they wander...

    Identify this....

If you try the boiling water, which has worked for me in the past, try to get it to retract into its hole first before you blast it. You don't have to touch it with anything. Just a change in current, like waving something in front of it, would make it retract. Out in the open like that you...

    Sumps

You should put chambers in the sump with bubble traps. For a 20 breeder you could probably get away with only two chambers. The overflow going into the first chamber with the live rock and your return pump in the second chamber. I wouldn't worry about putting sand in. The rocks will do the same...

    Current USA Light

You paid $200 for a 24"? I just bought a 48-60" Orbit Loop for the same price. I upgraded from the 36-48" standard from Orbit. Yes, they will support softies and some LPS corals but for SPS and Nems your going to need a higher intensity light.

What to do with QT water?

Just keep some filter floss in your sump for the next time you need a QT.

What to do with QT water?

It'll just get stagnant. Just toss it and clean everything.

    New tankmp

Can you adjust the flow of the pump? If so, turn it down a little. It's returning too much water to your display and the overflows can't handle that much water.

    bulkhead sizing and pipe sizing

Are you positive they're 2" holes? Because the closest I can find is a 1.0" schedule 80 bulkhead but it requires a 1-7/8" drilled hole.

    bulkhead sizing and pipe sizing

I've only heard of bulkhead coming in 1/2" increments. 1/2, 1.0, 1.5 and so on. Are you sure 1.25 isn't the size pipe you need to fit the bulkhead you have?

New 140 gallon need help! Fresh build

If I may jump in here. Here is the design I'm going to use when I rebuild my invert setup. I'm not using a gate or ball valve because my return pump has a 6 stage variable speed and I'm using a flexible return line to minimize resistance.

    55 Corner Tank Ideas

Current Marines of fine for Softies and some LPS but I wouldn't recommend it for SPS. What wattage are the heaters?

    Lost fish and shrimp

A common misconception among a lot of hobbyists is that Ich is an illness or disease when in fact it's a parasite and once eradicated properly cannot come back. Just follow the advice from Jay and you'll beat this. However, if you remove the corals and invertebrates and treat the display with...
