    Benefit's or drawback's of using a aerator

My question would be - is it the bubbles adding the O2 or is it the waterflow across the surface adding the O2. Even in a power out I doubt that O2 gets very low. The problem with power outages is the CO2 builds up. That said, having 3 or 4 bait keepers around with plenty of batteries is a...

    Benefit's or drawback's of using a aerator

I can see that. Usually in a reef tank O2 is saturated and you really can't get more O2 into the water. But I agree there are chemicals that consume high quantities of O2 and an airstone would help. The ammonia detoxifiers are a prime example. I'd still like to see a study if the airstone...

    New/Used 46 Gallon Tank

I would never consider mixing store water with my system's water. Not a chance.

The one fact that escapes a lot of people is that unless we build new nuke plants the old ones will need to be kept. Those things were built in the 60's, designed to last 30 years, are all disasters just waiting to happen, and expensive as all get out to maintain. If nothing else build some...

They are interesting. They will make a dent on pod populations but they will not exterminate your pods. If you hand feed them they will multiply.

Lights On or OFF during cycle?

1 - For me, it's on. 2 - I have had the best success with some live rock right away but doing water changes to keep ammonia below 0.5ppm, then add the rest of the rock (high quality) after that cycles and repeat (always keep ammonia below 0.5ppm).

    Benefit's or drawback's of using a aerator

Aerators definitely reduce CO2. I doubt they add O2, I'd have to see research on that. A good skimmer is 10X more effective though.

Has anyone heard of the newest clownfish

Everyone has their own individual taste. I just applaud you for choosing a captive bred. For me they look raggedy. Just personal preference.

The High Temp Gas Cooled reactors for example. Since they don't need a water source they can be built in remote areas, even underground.

If it were me I would rely on the skimmer and keep the canister for a monthly run of GAC or in case of an emergency.

Add to that the fact that in the modern designs nuke plants don't even have enough fissionable material to cause a melt down. Even in the worst case.

Again I'll say it. There has been far more radiation "leaked" from coal plants than from nuclear fueled power plants.

Yellow tang and a Long nosed butterfly

It is still legal in the Philippines to use cyanide to catch fish. The distributors in the US just won't buy them.

Yellow tang and a Long nosed butterfly

Cyanide was used for decades to catch ornamental fish. The effects are obvious enough that the distributors no longer accept fish caught this way. I would be doubtful if many fish are still caught this way. Not impossible, but improbable.
