    One thing the hobbyist needs to take into consideration is ease of maintenance. Will it be easier to harvest caulerpa from a refuge? Or would it be easier to remove a screen from their scrubber and harvest or break up the algae if it starts impacting the screen

    Exactly right the only thing I would stress is that the scrubber does not utilize any excess nutrients it utilizes any nutrients which are presented through the screen. The most important principle IMO when implementing a scrubber is to have excellent flow of nutrient rich water passing through it
