IMO you don’t want to skimp on a protein skimmer, look into the AquaC Remora Pro Protein Skimmer with Rio 1400 Pump. BTW have you considered a sump and skimmer combo?

Something else I just noticed along with the lighting. I wish you would have cut out the top so you would have more access room for maintenance (cleaning the inside tank acrylic EST.)
