    Corals from SWF

Actually flower they are considered to be in the mid-range when it comes to care. There are as with all corals certain specific needs, lighting, flow and IMO placement (from the web In the wild, the Elegance Coral lives in both shallow and deeper waters, down to 131 feet (40 m), in areas of...

When Filling a Tank, Should I pour water then the Sand or the opposite ?

Or what I like to do and yes it takes some time. Go to your local hard ware store and buy some ½” pvc and ½” 90s with a clean out. You can make little tables out of the pvc its real simple. Place them in your BB tank. Then place the rock on top of the table this gives you the advantage of your...

Ok boys and girls I received my shipment of corals this morning. I had stated that I was going to start a thread from the time I received the coral to the introduction into my tank. Problem is I was so excited to see the coal that I could not wait to get the camera before I opened the box. Let...

Much worse than before is like being a little pregnant, you either have GHA or you don’t. Removing by hand and using snails can never really assure you have gotten it all. Trust me I know. You need to sterilize the rocks with the algae. FYI the method used by most if not all public aquariums to...

    My 150g

You may not want to hear this BUT you need to address the gha NOW, and aggressively. IMO the best way to do this is remove the rocks effected on the right side of your tank. Bleach them. Back in the tank they go. After a week take out the effected rocks on the left side and do the same. It may...

UV Sterilizer In-Line with Skimmer (and during cycling)

Do not run the skimmer or the UV while you are cycling. The skimmer will skim out dissolved organics which you need for the colonization of nitrifying bacteria. IMO you are wasting bulb life by running your UV so soon FYI you want the water passing round your UV bulb to be as clean as possible...
