my first try at a tang.

This one isn't as bad as the other but it's still grossly over stocked and I'm sure he only has one flame angel now and I wouldn't be surprised if his bigger angels killed each other too

my first try at a tang.

I've read of people moving fish from hypo to 1.025 water with no issues I'm saying I recommend that but I think fish aren't as sensitive as we think. As far as the ick goes if it's in your tank your fish will eventually show signs of it and most likely will get it and if your putting this fish...

That Angel is dead I wonder which one the pbt went after next. I really hope that's not your tank though.

It seems like you have a bacterial bloom then just try a water change and see if it clears up any.

my first try at a tang.

I don't agree with the 2-3 hour acclamation timeeveryone one seems to think these fish need I think it just stresses the fish more to leave him in a bag for 2-3 hour all I've ever done is float the bag I've done this with an Achilles tang that is supposed to be so sensitive that if you look at...

    filtration?

Buying fish online vs the LFS

I'm just saying I don't think it takes 3 hours to acclimate a fish I've never done anything but float and dump. And like I said when a fish is shipped the ammonia builds up but since it's in a bag the ph drops making it less toxic but as soon as you open the bag to drip acclimate the ph spikes...

Buying fish online vs the LFS

I think when you buy online fish a faster acclamation time is better since when you open the bag the ph rises and the ammonia becomes toxic so I always just float the bag and throw them in. Also it seems you were trying to add way to many fish at one time

    filtration?

I think I'm gonna run the skimmer along with an aquaclear 110 with macros in it and move the canister to my reef tank in place of the 110.

    filtration?

I think I'll run both till the skimmer is broken in and then try it with just the skimmer. Sounds good?

my first try at a tang.

I think the tang you had was just stressed and starving so he couldn't handle the move. Yellow tangs are great I have one and he's probably my most active tang i say get one. As far as baby's go I think it depends on how healthy the fish looks and if he's eating. Plus I think baby's are easier...

my first try at a tang.

I've never done that with any of my tangs I just float them for 20 minutes net them out of the bag and throw them in the tank.

Should I ditch my old fish and buy a new crew?

Get a red tail trigger they're pretty much one of the most reef safe triggers

Buying fish online vs the LFS

But he got it from his lfs so you can still get undesirable things even if you can see what your buying. I'd love to come to your lfs then cause if they have fish that aren't online they must have some pretty exotic stuff
