Murph sweet tank. Is that a Dolphin pump running your skimmer? Just curious. I use one on my skimmer and IME I have the best results with the venturi on them compared to other pumps I tried. Vic

Forgot to add I have the lights 18" above my water in a canopy with 2 4" fans blowing across the surface. My chiller practically never goes on. I mean practically never. You wouldn't believe how well fans work. Vic

I have a 75 gal oceanic mixed reef. I have 2 250 watt MH 10,000k with 4 110 watt actinic. I have great growth and my anemone loves it. You have to remember all that light doesn't mean you throw it on all at once. I gradually light my tank with timers in a sequence that works well for me. Also...

Putting it in upside down was a good thing. I am not sure what they actually do eat. My Blue Linka grazes on the rocks all day. I am one of the lucky ones that can spot feed mine. What I do is put algae sheet on a clip when the star is one the glass and it finds it's way over. Another this I do...

Do not expose the star to air. That IMO is the most important part. Take a extra few hours to acclimate also. Vic

This is second time I have heard that. I know you can buy them online, never seen one in a LFS. They require a really large tank. Hell my pool is 45,000gl maybe I should get one....lol

IMO I would not attempt to keep one in a 125gl. I know there is a person on this board that has one in a 300gl and he is having success. I am currently planning a large system either 670gl or 775gl and my desire is to keep 2 or 3 of them. I know they enjoy schooling and I feel that it will help...

I am a big nonbeliever in peppermint shrimp in reef tanks. I know they control apstasia, but I had a few that were very aggressive. Including ripping apart my feather dusters, mushrooms and lettuce nudi's. I would say they could be the culprits. Vic

I just bought one last week and it looks healthy, but it doesn't extend far from he base at all. I guess that is the problem with buying online. You don't get to see it first. Anyway I wanted to compare it to others to see if anyone has the same type. Thanks Vic
