If it's a bare bottom tank you can simply fill it with water from you tank at your next water change. This way you don't have to acclimate your frags when you move them over. I would continue to do water changes that way as well. Whatever water you remove from your display move over to the frag...

I live on long island as well and I wasn't inpressed with county reef at all. With all those tanks and water volume I expected alot more than I saw. If I do use a LFS I prefer Petstop in Huntigton they seem to have very healty fish. I never visited country critters, but I heard they are good. Vic

If you think your tank is complete.....it's time for another tank.

Your problem is most likely phosphates. There are the detectable ones as well as the ones that are just hiding in your sand bed and live rock. I would try a water change every week for the next few and run rowaphos or phosban. Also make sure you run it in a reactor, getting the water to flow...

It looks like a sponge to me. They are harmless filter feeders, and you might have some fish that will eat them. Vic

My Blue Linka has been chewing on this seaweed all day. My Tangs are pissed to say the least. Anyway it's pretty cool to see in person, the mouth of the star slowly pulling the seaweed in. Anyway enjoy Vic
