    snails smails

Salt snails can and will reproduce but they are generally not a nuisance like fresh. I think i've managed to get a few baby ceriths to survive and i used to have strombus maculatus breeding like crazy. Then killer snail killed them :( anyways. Hes gone so maybe theres a few left. When...

    how hard are cup corals?

No food Pc's are fine unless brightly colored, then halides would be better. Low-middle flow. Gentle sway. Placement should be in accordance with lighting. In general an intermediate coral.

    Star Polyps are dying help!!!

Who told you to run them under tap water? Fresh water coral baths can be done but usually that involves dipping them into a preset tub and not for a minute but a few seconds i think. I also think its not to be done with algae but certain coral diseases. What kind of algae was it? To keep...

    Am I being Paranoid?

Good move with getting it sandless. Yes it will irritate the coral if done repetedly and could kill it. Try moving the coral to the other side of the tank away from the goby. Sounds like the goby is just trying to keep his home clean and the coral is in his way. The brain in the rocks isn't...

    Can you ID this clam?

I take that back doesn't look stupendous but definitely savable with some tlc. Are there translucent areas? Thats a sign its stressed. White isn't necessarily a bad thing but the translucent thing is. The colors do look a bit washed out. Get him his cup holder and get him up near the light...

    Can you ID this clam?

1.)Buy something cup shaped that the clam can sit in so it can foot itself. 2.)The "gaping mouth" is normal when it switches tanks or is under stress. If it is left alone and your water is optimal it will not gape as much. If the gaping persists and gets eithe bigger or you start noticing...

    Lagoonal Reef

I don't think i can post the site Bang Guy but I recently visited a store in Terra Haute Indiana that had a warehouse with lagoons setup, ie turf scrubbers. Lets just say its your operation times 12 and then some. They had seperate 30 gallon cubes setup for raising fish at least a 100 of them...

Well thats the thing i also noticed. The store doubled what they paid for their dry goods as well. I never understood it because there was a decent demand for lots of things but they werent moving because of price. I always thought it would be better to charge that much less but get those...

    feather duster left its tube

They are actually not corals. They are considered an invertebrate and do not require any sort of light. Its actually a worm. Just a gentle water flow and some sort of planktonic food suspended in the water for them to catch and eat is all they need.

    SWF sent wrong items

Charts are online or check your LFS. Firefish should be fine with what you have. Wouldn't "buy" anymore fish for your tank though :)

    LFS store prices

Having worked in 2 fish stores i know they jack up prices from what they paid. One store i worked for doubled what they paid plus 99 cents. Your stores prices are a bit steep for some but pretty normal for others. Expect to pay high dollar for any angel

    feather duster left its tube

I"ve had 3 that did that as well. Subtle changes in their environment will cause them to do this and once they do theres a slim chance they will make it. Yes he will build a tube or shrivel and die. 2 or 3 days will tell.

    How many is to many?

To aggressive my butt. Percs and Ocellaris clowns are the least. They will nip at fish if the other fish get to close to them and their territory. Of all the clowns that are super aggressive sometimes tomatoes and Maroons would be them. But thats more like bite your hand in the tank than...
