    How many is to many?

So back to your fish. The tang you can keep. Other fish you can get, any type of goby, any type of hawkfish(keep in mind some eat shrimp), any type of blenny, any type of clown, firefish, dwarf angels, and of course damsels. I would stay away from teh angels till your tank has been up for 6...

hmmm. Well he's ok for now. I will give you that but he cannnot stay in that tank forever. How big is he right now? I would suggest privatley finding him a home on this website or others. Taking him back to the lfs he may end up in a smaller tank. I don't remember mentioning this book but...

    Live rock Qs

To do something like this youll ahve to get rid of the live stock in your tank for a month. You could set up a rubber maid tub with a mechanical filter or power heads to stir the water and cure the rock in there. But do not buy bulk and add it all at once.

    live rock or crushed coral?

Crushed coral is just a substrate. After a couple of years of keeping your tank you may run into nitrate problems as the bigger rubble tends to trap more waste in it than the finer sand. I would not waste your money on live sand at this point. Live sand jsut means that it has beneficial...

feeding aggressive fish saltwater snail and crabs

Im not so sure the puffer will eat either. I know they go after shrimp but i could be wrong. The eel on the other hand shouldn't bother either.

    How many is to many?

That many fish is doable provided you do a couple of things. One is get 75 lbs of live rock. Two you must mix the fish. Meaning a bottom dweller, rock dweller, some that swim in the rocks, some that stay out front, different shapes, different colors, different temperaments, hell even go so...

    Achilles Tang - Surviving?

I would keep anthias seperate. Your tank isn't quite big enough. Angels are in two categories. Dwarf and Regular. Dwarfs have the best chance of NOT eating corals. Most Regulars will and do eat corals. I would look into any tang not shaped like your PB tang. That includes the achilles and...

    low light corals

WPG is a loose guide. It should be followed if you are an inexperience coral keeper. Start easy with mushrooms and zoos. Work your way up to softies and lps if you don't kill the shrooms and zoos. Do not try SPS without extensive reading and planning. I would suggest buying a coral book by...

    Something ate my star polyps

Thats fine and all but the size of his fish are what get me. That blue face is not meant for anythign smaller than a 125. Juvy or not. let alone a PB tang. I just personally don't see the point of getting a fish if you don't plan on keeping it long term which means longer than 2 years...

    Something ate my star polyps

You do know you've overstocked that tank with fish? A PB, 3 angels, and 6 other fish in a 55 is not good for long term care. I'd really recommend getting rid of the Blue Face and PB if you care about their longterm health. Both need a 125 to be healthy. Back to your coral problem...

    Snail Id/Potential Killer

I guess i should add he does have a little tube that comes out when he travels around. A little feeler like a conch might have. Thats why im so confused. He definitely does not have those conch eyes though. I've seen his "skin" pattern as well and its similar to a conches, but like i said no...

    death, ich and bastard LFS!

With the amount of fish you have cramming them in a 10 might be suicide. Fish can fight off ich on their own. Overfeed them, add some garlic and zoecon, and generally make sure your fish are super happy and it might go away. Just make sure you don't spike your nitrates or other levels in the...
