There is a HOB filter and a skimmer in the tank. I meant, the power head is only a nano and is still sucking him up.

The trace elements are in the salt, not the RO water.

Just wondering, I bought an ORA purple monti cap from this site about 6 weeks ago. It has only grown about 1/4 inch on all sides. Is this normal? Also, it's not very purple. It's about 10 inches from the top of the tank under 175w MH's. All other corals are growing well.

You must do water changes to replenish all trace elements that are required for coral growth. Also, water is the only thing that evaporates. All of the "bad stuff" stays behind.

Oh yeah, the sailfin is pretty small. About 1.5-2 inches.

I have a mated pair of Ocellaris that are around 3 inches. They have been in my 110g for at least 2 years. How fast do they normally grow? Have I somehow stunted their growth? They must be smokers......

Get new lights and get rid of the phosphates. Should fix your problem with the algae. Do you have many snails?
