    It's a nano!

I would look into purchase of a 1200 maxi jet as a pump. I would not silicone the rocks together..if you want to reaquascape or should need to remove something in the future such as a troublesome fish, this may make it impossible. Just stack the rocks so there are caves and the water can flow...

    in need of help

Purchase a refractometer to test specific gravity, it should be 1.025 and kept stable by water changes and topping off with fresh water daily. The water evaporates, but salt remains. Use only RO/DI {reverse osmosis de-ionized} water and a good marine salt mix. Water changes should be done...

    Feeding dwarf lions

Live feeders is better than nothing for a start, just to get it to eat. It needs to eat something, and the stress of capture and moving the fish around causes it not to eat for sometimes weeks. Then you will need a feeding stick to train him onto frozen or fresh from the grocer food. Place the...

    why doesnt my salt disolve?

You don't need the suction cups for the heater. I use a 44 gal brute{it is food grade, so safe for your tank}submersible heater and just toss it in with a MJ powerhead for a day at least..sometimes two. IO is notorious for leaving residue.

Want to add Bub tip Anemone

One of the groupers may eventually eat the clown. No a good idea . Besides, anemones need metal halide, T-5 or equivelant lighting. Most people do not keep proper lighting for corals or anemones over an aggressive tank. To answer your question about the starfish in the other thread, how did you...

    My tank questions

    1. Intermatic 2. I think you would do best to have someone come in every few days and look after your tank, top it off, make sure everything is still working properly, etc. Check at your LFS, they may have someone willing to do it for a nominal fee. They do not make a good auto feeder IMO, and...

    Yellow tail tang problem

We will need alot of details before we can help. What size tank, how long set up, is it cycled, what type of water are you using, what are you using to test specific gravity, and what are all of your parameters, including PH, temp, no3,po4? Who told you to add copper, and did you put the copper...

can i use ocean water in my tank

When ocean water is used it is taken from a far distance & depth. Think of the beach as the ocean's skimmer...all the pollution winds up there.

    Nudibranch

What type of nudibranch do you have? Most all nudibranchs die of starvation unfortunately, and do not do well in the high flow/overflow environment of a tank.

    brittle stars

Do you mean the central disc? That is where it's organs are, where it's food goes..so yes it is somewhat soft unless full. Have you been spot feeding him? So you know...green brittle stars are predators and are capable of catching your fish.

    wanting new coral

You can get regular latex gloves like from the drug store The drawback to them is the water gets in them and when you remove your arm from the tank the water will run down it. Or there are actually coral gloves made by Coralife...they are a garish purple & orange color and cover your whole arm...
