    Hagen Glo T5s

It is a 29 gallon tank, sorry the pic is so bad, I took it with my cell phone. The light is really nice, it brightens up the entire room, I will try to get a better pic with my digital camera when I get home from work.

    Hagen Glo T5s

I was going to order the Nova extreme fixture, they are exactly the same wattage and size as the Glo fixture. I was looking to upgrade my lighting from a single 18 watt NO fluorecent and this was a much improved step up. The Glo fixture has a single reflector for the 2 bulbs and is very bright.

    Hagen Glo T5s

I picked up my first coral yesterday, a pulsing xenia. I am just getting into reefs so I wanted to see how the xenia did under the lights before I tried to add anything else. As far as investment wise, the price was reasonable when compared to ordering online when you factor in shipping charges.

    Turbo Snails MIA

I found that my hermits were killing my snails for bigger homes, just watched this happen yesterday, even though I had extra shells laying around for the hermits.

    What the shell?

I guess you are right, I have plenty of shells laying around, but he wanted a fresh kill. I feed my tank lightly twice a day as I only have one Percula so I don't think he was hungry.

    What the shell?

I awoke this morning to one of my hermit crabs devouring one of my nerite snails for his shell. I guess he didn't like the selection of shells laying around my tank.

    Sponge Death

I had a piece of live rock that had 2 sponges on it, one red, and one orange. Air only touched the rock for a few seconds but the red sponge died, the orange sponge is still going strong though, I guess it really depends on the sponge. The red one just started disentigrating until it was no more.

    coral lighting help

I want to add some easy corals to my 30 gallon FOWLR tank. I was thinking some mushrooms and a few zoa's. I plan on upgrading my single flourescent bulb with a T5 fixture that holds 2 bulbs, one 10 k full spectrum and one 460nm Actinic. It is rated at 24 watts each for a total of 48 watts...

    Empty 30 gallon tank

I have an extra empty 30 gallon tank with no idea what to do with it. I may be able to pick up some pretty cheap live rock this weekend, but I don't know which direction to take the tank in. I am new to SW and my other tank is a FOWLR. I was thinking of starting a mini reef tank.....any ideas...

    Suggestions for tankmates

One of the damsels was a rescue from my LFS. He was in a tank with a yellow tail and he was being abused, had part of his tail missing and was in bad shape, I brought him home and nursed him back to health, so I really don't want to get rid of him, but the other one I think I will trade in and...
