    problems with oceanic biocube skimmer?

I have the biocube skimmer and it works fine for me. It is a lot better to have than just the crappy filters and it does get out a lot of crap. I have had no problems. coyle...it can be used on any tank. It has suction cups that you can put on it to use in non biocube tanks.

I will give this a couple of weeks. If it gets worse, then I have to be proactive about it. Either my cuc are all lazy d-bags or the salt water I buy premixed is feeding that algae so I will need to add something to it to eliminate the silicates. Buying it premixed is a lot easier than using tap...

Well the source of the problem, as I read, are silicates and nitrates. Now I use RO water so that eliminates tap water as a source. But, I get sw that is premixed from the LFS so that might contain some silicates from their salt mix. I don't overfeed so I know that isn't the problem and I only...

Not to sound rude but how is one additive, bacteria starter culture, "so many additives?" I just don't want the stuff to overrun my aquarium and make it look like crap. I have enough cuc in there to take care of it all so if they don't remedy the problem, I will have to look into additives to...

No, it's not submerged. I have had my aquarium up and running for 4 weeks now. I started posting a little after I got it. It cycled the first 5 days or something and I waited a couple of days before adding any cuc. I took in a water sample to my lfs and they said everything was good. I...

    Hello All!

I always always wanted a sw aquarium and finally did it and also ended up here. And, I knew this hobby was expensive and was...

That is what mine did...he died. I tossed him because it was making an awful smell and when you pull it out, it will stink horrible. I put him in the tank and thought he was acclimating but his mouth was open and his insides were coming out so instead of waiting to see if he recovered and...
