    Adjust it to where there is a dark nasty looking stuff in the collection cup...clear liquid is not the skimmate you are trying to obtain...depending on the skimmer you have you may slow the pressure in it down a little, and keep monitoring its progress.

    Everything on the rock marine related is dead...bacteria and all. Marine organism's cannot survive long periods in freshwater due to the rapid absorbtion and eventual destruction...osmotic pressure.

    Caulerpa just doesnt grow..it needs nutrients in addition to the Iron to thrive...if it isnt growing, chances are you have low levels of the nutrients, which is what you are striving for.

    As many stages as you can get...also, if your water is nasty...get a home drinking setup to go with it...very good drinking water.

    If the tank is cycling...it is probably excessive nutrients built up from the cycle...also, you may increase circulation to those areas to keep the nutrients from dead spotting it.

    Sounds like your pump isnt up to snuff with the GPH flow rating of the overflow...a balanced setup will flow the bubbles right through.
