    Food for LM Blenneys

Mine took a liking to Formula II flakes. There is nori in the tank at all times, but mine never does much with it except perch on the lettuce clip.

    Fat Yellow Tang

Define "fat." Yellow tangs shouldn't be paper thin like they tend to be in captivity. Mine is a good 1/2 to 3/4 wide and about 4 inches in height and length.

    star polyp i.d.

Hard to tell from the second picture, but the polyps resemble the polyps on my orange pipe organ more so than the polyps on my green star.

    Is this Aptaisia?

Not aiptasia. I have those all over areas of my live rock and I have reached the point that I can smell aiptasia in the tank :) :) They are most likely a form of foraminiferan (single celled harmless protozoans).

    Aiptasia

If the link works, there are some good pics here https://forums.saltwaterfish.com/t/48781/astapia-or-what If it doesn't, go the the reef forum and look for the topic "Astapia or what???"

    Aiptasia

That mixture will go a long way. Yes, any syringe made for dispensing medication will work. I believe some pet shops also carry them. I've never had a problem with it disrupting anything, but I was lucky enough to find them early and get on them quickly. They still have a tendancy to be like...

    Aiptasia

If you can find it: A tablespoon of pickling lime (homemade kalkwasser at $1.80 a pound) to two tablespoons of water. Nuke the mixture in a microwave for 30 seconds and inject the aiptasia with it. Hopefully the peppermint shrimp will do the work for you.

    nitrates

I would recommend getting a test done by your LFS. The dip in strips would probably sit at the lowest level of acceptable test kits. My LFS told me that he quit using the Aq. Pharm. dry tab kits because of constant readings of 80 ppm when he knew that wasn't the case. He now uses the Seatest...

    live rock

I read good comments about it from some others who have bought it. The only complaint that I remember seeing is that the pieces are a little on the small size. I made several other purchases from here, and based on those, I would not hesitate to buy the rock.

    clownfish

I had a pair that lasted 13.5 years together and the one that was left made it another 14 months after that. I know several people that have had them for 10 years or more. I'm not sure that you will find any scientific data on their life span in the ocean.

    live rock

Do a search for "curing live rock" on the internet. Use the quotes. You'll find a lot of helpful links on exactly how to do it. Whether curing your own makes it cheaper in the long run would depend on whether or not you have the proper equipment to cure it. Generally a protein skimmer and...

    tap water filters

If you are talking about the Aq. Pharm. filter, it works ok. How much water you can run through it before the cartridge needs replaced depends on your water source. In my case, I got somewhere between 25 and 40 gallons before needing to replace the filter. That translated into more expensive...

What to do about my aptasia out break?

I tested this link and it worked. Hopefully it will work for you: http://www.garf.org/news7p1.html#PEST I have heard that raccoon butterflies will eat aiptasia but never used them. Copperband butterfly wiped out what the above method didn't. However, once it took care of the aiptasia, it also...

Opinions on Custom Sealife PCs ?

I had half of a 2x65 ballast fail about 1 month after purchase. CSL replaced it with no problem. I have a 2x32 retrofit on a 10 gallon nano that has run fine for months and a 1x96 as supplemental early am late pm light on my 75 with no problems. My 2x32 kit originally came with the same bulbs...
