I read somewhere that even the best of skimmers can only remove about 30% of the proteins in a tank. Don't see any reason not to run them 24/7.

I bought a used Tunze Wavebox with the more powerful magnets from a local reefer for $300. I absolutely love it. No more flow deadspots and watching the wave action is simply hypnotic. If you have a reef-ready tank with corner overflows, it basically blends right in and is not an eyesore.

I love my Outer Orbit 48" 2X250W+T5s, but I don't think I'd buy another Outer Orbit fixture now that Current USA has completely discontinued their lighting product lines.

There are also plenty of negative posts about them too. Some people think they're great, while other regret doing business with them. Just do a quick online search...plenty of reading on both sides.

It will be a mixed-reef. I have a few designs I'm working on for stand/canopy.

I'm in Central Texas. We don't have mini anything. :) Garages are almost a must have. We get 1-3 hailstorms every year (sometimes bigger than golfballs). Get stuck out in that and your car will end up with a wicked case of cellulite.

96x24x24, Reef-Ready, Euro-Braced. This build won't really start until after the holidays. Plenty of planning ahead. Since this will be my last upgrade, I'm going to take my time!
