I know a guy who had a 300g custom tank built with a closed loop and a Calfo overflow. Quality work by a reputable builder, but the tank cost over $5K.

Agreed, calfos are the best option....just so damn expensive to have a tank customized with one.

Just picked this beauty up from a local reefer. He had it for over six months, but sold it to me because his clownfish were trying to host it. I know these have a reputation for being difficult, but I've always loved these corals and I couldn't pass up the chance to get a hardy specimen.

I use some limestone in my tank. I used it as a base and I stacked my liverock on top. I've never had an issue with PH, so it might be helping in that area as well. Try to avoid pieces with and orange/red tint as they may contain more metals/minerals.

I've found that mysis shrimp is the filet mignon of my reef tank. If a fish rejects that, chances are it will never eat (assuming it's in its recommended diet). Try soaking the mysis shrimp in some garlic too.

Don't mean to hi-jack, but what about rock that has been exposed to KICK-ICH? I know there's no copper in KICK-ICH, but what about the 5-nitroimidazoles it contains? Will it leach as well (rock has been dried out for over 6 months)?

This hammer coral is over 10" across and has about 60-80 heads.

I run a Mag 18 on my 75g reef with a CPR Overflow Box (flow rate of 600gph). However, my pump sends the water from the sump through a 1/3HP chiller before returning to the display tank, which adds maybe another 3-4 feet of plumbing to the return. It really depends on your overflow rate.

Scrap the scrubber and turn your skimmer on, dude! My water looks clear enough to drink.

I have seen/heard of an Oceanic 200g tank (7'x2'x2'), but noticed it's not one of their current standard tanks. Do they still make them? Is it a custom tank? Any ideas of the price range (more or less than their 215g)? What kind of bracing do they use for this size tank?
