    29g biocube, attempt number two.

Is the mod you are talking about the upgrade to the Biocube airstone skimmer? If so is this it? "first i removed the bottom floor in the first chamber, by doing this it gives you a lot more room in there and makes it deeper. then i bought a gravel vac that was the same size as the tube for the...

    29g biocube, attempt number two.

The tank is in my living room. I don't think it is louder than any other skimmer I have heard. You have to dial in the height and air mixture setting but mostly just ambient background noise.

    29g biocube, attempt number two.

I have had this skimmer on my biocube 29 gallon for a few years now and it does a great job. AquaticLife Internal Mini Protein Skimmer 115 Also on the initial cycling of the tank. Let your tank age for a while, usually 6 weeks give or take a couple to let things stabilize a bit. Just my opinion.

Any ideas on this tall yellow thing?

Why Hello Mr. Greg! Hope all is well with you and the lovely one. The neomeris will tend to take over under the right conditions though.

    Why add shrimp to cycle?

We know we can influence the tanks ability to handle the amount of available ammonianitritesand nitrates by increasing the colonies of bacteria to utilize them. (to a certain level that is) so yes I do believe that increasing the amount of food will increase the handling capacity of the tank...

How do you achieve stability in a reef?

Define what would be stable? IMO everything is changing constantly, chaos. Things are growing, dying, one elementchemical being utilized while others being replenishedincreased. Trying to emulate natural environs seems almost an exercise in futility at times. What has been learned over the years...

    Anemone identifaction help please!

Heteractis crispa, Sebae anemone. Yes it is bleached but should come back with good care and proper water conditions. Tentacles should turn a tan or greenish color over time. The Clarki should help with feeding and if you have good lighting should be good to go.

    30 Gallon SPS Reef Build

Pretty sure nothing is not the answer but certainly keep up on the water changes. However in reading Eric's article the maturing process is definitely something to think on. I think in your case the following is most appropriate. "And then the turf algae take advantage of the nutrients (the hair...

    30 Gallon SPS Reef Build

You know not a bash here but just an observation. I started back on the first page reading again and was starting to list all of the changes you have made to a tank that is just over a year old. I was amazed to say the least. First off you started the tank on or around the 23rd of Jan and by...
