My Clown is really starting to annoy me...

...by disappearing! So my clownfish has decided he is going to spend all his time in the back corner behind the rocks... day and night. He almost never comes out, and when he does its during feeding time and even then he seems really reluctant. When I first got him he was all over the tank, but...

Basic, easily kept coral without any maintance?

There's frozen coral food you can get that you would put in the tank just like frozen fish food. The stuff I've been feeding my corals is called Daphnia. I have Button Polyps, Star Polyps, a Frogspawn, and a Bullseye Mushroom and they all seem happy on that stuff and its doen't require any...

My 40 gallon tank (pic thread updated 9/13).

Hello friends! Its been a while since I posted any updates... but I got a doozy of an update to my thread... My tank's got corals now! Wooo! One of the several LFSs in my area was litterally just finishing stocking their new shipment of corals and fish and so they said that I was the first one...

    Keeping Mandarins without a fuge?

    Keeping Mandarins without a fuge?

Yeah that is a lot of work for just one little fish lol. As far as nano cubes go... I was thinking if somone listed one for less than $50 or if one was listed with some livestock and corals included it might be worth it. As for your question, I currently have roughly 30 lbs of LR in the tank...

    Keeping Mandarins without a fuge?

So I really, really like Mandarins, but I don't have a refugium (so growing copepods in a seperate area is impossible). I've read from a lot of sources that Mandarins are tough to keep alive because of this... but I there are live copepods available for purchase. So did I miss something...

    What is this snail/conch/whatever?

Hello, while selecting some live rock today at the LFS, I came across this little guy on a rock: I asked if I could have him if I bought the rock, and that was ok with them so into the tank it went:) It has a smooth, almost pearl colored shell, a white body, and as you can see, some kind of...

Oh yeah in just so y'all know, this mornign I put in some coral food, and now all the corals look like they are twice their original size! In fact, you can barely see the gray rock the frogspawn is on now :D Really neat seeing the button polyp eat... once it catches something the mouth slowly...

Haha Flower don't worry all is forgiven lol! That stubby finger looks great and I'll definately have to check them out or keep my eyes open for them in my LFS travels... Since you mentioned how to control the spread of star polyps, I currently have mine on the sand roughly an inch and a half...

Good sized button polyp for 11 bucks IMO... its about 3 inches across, and some of the larger heads are about the size of a quarter. Really cool to look at. In fact, these corals are what got me into wanting corals in the first place lol. Eventually I think I'll get more of these in different...

Hello all, So last week I upgraded my tank's lights, filtration, and added a skimmer and I think today is the day I will bring home my first corals (yay)! I am thinking no more than 3 corals at this time (unless I get a really good deal on a fourth). Here's a couple of pics to show what the rock...

Uh oh, my hermits are going to need to be replaced soon.

Eh... I might just replenish the hermits then since y'all say that emeralds or sally light foots might attack the arrow... besides, as long as the arrow stays interested in hermits then he may ignore the decorative inverts like my cleaner shrimps lol. How big can an emerald get? I was thinking...

My brave Firefish became extremely shy. Help/advise needed.

Hello all, I've had a Firefish in my tank for almost a month now and he has always been a very visible fish, always hovering still in the middle of my tank, just above where my cleaner shrimp likes to keep his cleaning station. During this time I had crushed coral sand as my substrate, but about...
