    Green will come but not like the flood of brown you had. It will grow much slower and if you control the nutrient sources in the tank it won't be a problem at all. Your whole problem was providing the algae with a source of food IE your tap water. Get rid of the source of food and it goes...

    Its probably some symbiotic crab that made a home in the coral. Kind of like christams tree worms in poritees rocks. Lucky you. I would focus more on the coral though IMO. It looks a little bleached.

    Which corals do okay on CC?

    On your CC? None. If you want to base something like a plerogyra(bubble) or caulastrea(candycane) in the CC then cool. You basically don't want the flesh of the coral rubbing against the CC in any manor.
