    HELP quick!!!

To answer your question, no, I dont think they will make it. Also even if they do survive, they will die eventually. What you will be buying are copepods. Mandarins dont eat copepods, the eat amphipods. Copepods are almost invisible to the human eye. Amphipods are the pods we normally see in our...

    Need some Expert Advice

Well you need at least a 10x turnover rate for your tank, that would mean you need at least 900 gph. If you plan on doing a reef tank, then you would need to increase your turnover to 20x. That would be 1800 gph. I would get a return pump with a 900 gph flow and then if more flow needed, make up...

Yup, thats what it is. Direct your return line or a powerhead towards the surface of your water to get more movement.

Starting a salt water tank need some pointers!

The reason people have sand storms is because they pour the sand directly from the bag into the tank. The sand should be thoroughly rinsed in a bucket until the water runs clear. Do this and your water will not be cloudy at all.

I agree, go with at least a 20 for your sump. I would keep the 10 as a hospital tank.

I know a lot of you read these boards and try to gain a little knowledge before starting. A lot of people cycle their tanks using a damsel or two and then regret it when they cant get the damsels out. Starfish suggestions

How about a Serpent starfish? They are similar to the Bristle but they dont have the bristles and they are not as aggressive. They are also reef safe and very hardy. They also come in a variety of colors.

FS-45 tank 20 sump stand and canopy

To be honest, its not worth shipping the sump. It is made from a 20 gal glass tank and would be too heavy to ship.

add just one more ? i think i know what everyone will say ...

Keep doing the water changes until your nitrates are down to zero. Then take some of your fish out of the tank. You have too many in there now for just a 90 gallon tank. It is recomended that you have 5 gallons of water for every inch of fish. Averaging your fish at 3" each, that would give you...

What do you keep in your sump?

I have my heater and temp probes in my sump. I dont run a skimmer anymore because I have a fuge. My return pump is also in my sump along with the pump to my spraybar. I keep the pumps in the water because it helps to heat th watr and the water also helps to quiet the pumps. In my fuge, I have a...

    Backup Power

There are power supplies for protecting your computer as was stated above. They are called UPS s for uninterupted power supply. There are different sizes depending on how long your power is out. The problem is that our fish tanks draw a lot more poer than a computer. You could get away with just...

    Heater mounted under sand ok?

I dont think it would be very effective because heat would be trapped beneath the sand. The moving water would not be heated properly. I would also think that you could burn out the heater because the temp probe would be reading that the water is could which would turn the element on. Since the...

    turtle tank into salt???

Clean it with the bleach solution, afterwards, you can rinse it with a dechlorinator. Bleach will kill most all germs and bacteria in the tank. Also, bleach is made from saltwater and reverts back into saltwater when it is broken down.
