    Acclimating Mollies to Salt tank

I wondered about the tetras..I don't think they will tolerate it at all. The loaches are a brackish fish, but can I don't think anything above 1.01ish? Not positive on that. Can I ask the reason you want to convert the tank?

    extra 10 gallon... seahorses?

    H. Capensis...I did not know they also go by Zulu! Note that some sites classify them tropical, some sub-tropic..there's one of the rubs with seahorse keeping. Another word of caution, though, Ryan..When they say these seahorses eat constantly, don't think it is just a pastime for them. To keep...

    extra 10 gallon... seahorses?

You are right MonaLisa. Baby brine shrimp have nutritional value only for the first 24 to 48 hours of their life, while they still have the yolk sack attached. You can enrich older brine shrimp, and this will improve the nutritional value somewhat, but baby brine are best. You have to be aware...

    extra 10 gallon... seahorses?

I agree with Bronco, of course. There is no species of seahorse, other than dwarf, that would survive in a ten gallon tank. The basic fact is that you would be putting a 5 to 8 inch fish in there. It is no different.

    Sea Horse is fattening up!!

Seahorses are predators. And their prey is very fast and difficult to see. They are amazing to watch hunt.

    Dog Owners Questions

The practices started long ago for particular purposes with particular breeds didn't they? Short, close ears and tail for working and field dogs (guard, hunting and fighting), etc..Dew claws are a perfect example of a modification that was seen to benefit the animal. I'm not neccessarily in...

I think I'm going to cry..can we see a picture of your tank? I bet it's a beaut! I would think the consistant care is a great thing. We have all thought about dilution (or lack of it) and think about the %..

    Acclimating Mollies to Salt tank

You would probably be safe doing that schedule twice weekly. It is easier on the fish to acclimate INTO a saltwater environment than it is for them to do the reverse.

    Seahorse and Thier Colors

My own experience is that tropical species of seahorses can be kept quite happy and healthy in a number of variations of water specifics, as far as temp and SG, depending on the species. A temp of 77 farenh. is fine, as long as the tank temp doesn't vary. 74 is fine, just keep it at that...

    fish specific question

You bet! Look to your screen on the upper left and you will see the word "fish". Click on that, find the fish that interests you and click on the underlined name. If you place your pointer over the underlined name, I think it will actually tell you to click for details. How easy is that?

    Male or Female

I just went back to your photos of him in the Photography Board (it would be simpler with a dedicated Syngnathid Board) and in that photo, I believe handsome is showing himself very nicely. Have another look. He's young and it won't be obvious, but he looks like a he to me.
