how long is my live rock ok in pails?

If you can, add at the very least an airhose for water movement, if the buckets are small. Also put in a heater or keep it in the warmest room to keep temp within normal tank range (75 would be okay).

    Seahorse in the Nursing Home

Sopia died a couple of weeks ago. in the nursing tank. The photos below are all of her in that tank. The first two, taken shortly after I first posted this thread, were September 25. The last one was taken on October 24, about two weeks before she died. I feel odd posting this, but she was an...

OMG!! now what do I do??

Beautiful, healthy fish! I don't think they are fish eaters. Look out more for your inverts. No offense intended, but a 4' trigger vs a 6" trigger? Apples and oranges, really.

    W O W !

It would also be amazing to get lost going from Jonesboro, AR to the airport in Memphis, no? I have done that, too. Aren't they something. The bristles.. Probably, no, he won't hurt anything. He likely can't hurt a healthy fish. He will, however clean up anything as equally icky as himself...

    pygmy seahosre

I have seen nano reefs that size. They amaze me because I know they are very difficult. You are talking about a ten gallon tank with a one gallon sump? With live fed dwarf seahorses. That is way beyond me. And not being a reefer, I only recognize a couple of the coral names. Sorry.

    Bristle worms

Overfeeding is definitely one possible cause. If you have a lot of live rock, they can live in it (nutrient rich, aside from ((or due to)) its filtering benefit) and flourish. Our tanks are an incredible balancing act. What size is your tank, how long since the end of the first cycle and what...

    seahorse vs coral

WOW, Kaye that is beautiful! You do have a wide range of colors to move through..it's interesting, isn't it? I have one female left, have had her for almost 4 years and have not seen her change from dark brown. My tank is pretty drab in comparison, color-wise. Thank you for the insight.

PLEASE do realize that no seahorse, as Allysia has said, will survive on frozen brine shrimp. I believe dwarf seahorses require fresh hatched LIVE brine, not frozen. The next thing to consider is the lengths you will need to go to in order to keep the water quality excellent in that small a...

:notsure: Just MO, but it doesn't sound terribly attractive to have a 1 gallon box in a ten gallon tank. And the horses wouldn't seem to end up with a fair shake..
