    Adequate lighting for 46-gallon?

I have the Current Dual Satellite on my 46 gallon bow. Great light. Enough light for soft corals like mushrooms, polyps. $365 seems high for PC lighting. I paid around $275 and that was at a LFS. Shop around you can find it cheaper.

    Salinity question??

Its probably a false reading from your hydrometer. I used a hydrometer for about 7 months and it always read 1.024. I bought a refractometer and the sg was 1.029. Room temperature can also be a factor in your readings. And inverts do better in a higher sg. 1.024-1.025 is ideal.

Im pretty sure that would be illegal. Check the local laws in Florida. Usually any removal of marine life is illegal.

    sun coral

Im about to buy one of these for my reef. My LFS has a few nice frags they are selling for $40. Is this is a good price? I buy alot of stuff from there so i can probably get it for cheaper. This is definitely a beautiful coral. Does it need to be drip acclimated or temperature acclimated?

    Ammonia levels...cycle... HELP

Was the LR you put in there already cured? If not, then that probably kick started your cycle. You are not ready for fish yet. Any sign of ammonia is bad for fish. You should be testing for ammonia, nitrite, nitrate at least 2 or 3 times a week. First your ammonia will spike, then fall. Then...
