    Easiest fishes

As sebae09 said it's not nutritional. Also Tangs eat more algae than meat so its especially less useful for them. Even though they may look plump, they're starving. There are really only 2 reasons an LFS would give them brine, they dont know how to care for them, or, they cant get them to eat...

Freshwater and Marine Aquarium (fama) Where I worked we had a subscription to almost every one there is. Go to the library and read them all or get a copy of each at LFS and see which one you like. WARNING: THEY WILL MAKE YOU WANT TO BUT STUFF

    Can someone id this fish

PS thanx sebae09 for the cool index link deadfish11, many fish found in your area are exclusive to there. If you were to post him on a brackish or goby collectors board not only would you find out what he is but you would probably get offers for him. Judging from his spectacular and unique...

    Easiest fishes

Guys, what do you think are the best begginer fish? That combo of easy care, temperment, and darn right prettyness. Keep in mind that most begginers here fell that a 75 is a large tank. Special note: whenever possible, get fish from Hawaii and Australia, they are not cyanide or explosive caught...

    Can someone id this fish

Some kind of brackish Goby was what I was thinking too. Finding something brackish at the beach isn't that unusual. They live where a fresh water tributary flows through at low tide, and salt comes in at high tide. They get sucked out and washed back in. The reason this is stumping us is where...

    Success with Moorish Idols

Whenever we got them in at the warehouse I'd start calling zoos to let them know. I did not want them to end up at a store.

Yeah, me too. I knew a guy that had 3 for years. He used to put them in shows in the "group of three class". I dont care how good your Green Chromis look, you aint beating that. We hated that guy. Best of show in almost every show he entered. His tank was 4'x4'x whatever the length of his...

spiderweb looking things in the tank?

I'm gonna go with alyssia's theory and ask if they appear to be under intelligent control. Did you ever sit and watch them and see if something is reeling the net back in? I had ones that were just like a single strand of fishing line. It would shoot out of the rock, inch across the bottom...

PEACOCK MANTIS hitchiker in my REEF!!!

I'm sure they could break a 10, but for some reason they seem to be able to see glass. I've never actually seen one turn but the trail of dust looks like they did. Yeah, they are F-A-S-T. Did you see in the video that one part where he moves so fast that it looks like the camera skipped some...

    Orange tree sponge

I had one for many years. IMO the reason people have trouble with these is, they buy one that was poorly collected, it's entire foot should be attatched to rock, and/or the tank is either too hot or too well lit. I had mine in sort of a "looks like a plant" tank, gorgonians and feather dusters...

    clown trigger burried

I had a Huma that would just lay on the bottom when you turned out the light. I dont know how long one could stay buried, but I wouldn't worry about it. When I sleep I never forget to breathe.

heniochus and pakistan, together. good idea?

I'm sure its been done. Herea a little hope for ya, the Heni is pretty bold for a butterfly, the Pakistani is a Chaetodon, the Heni isn't. I dont remember if mine went after other butterflies, all I remember is how wierd it was that he was beating up huge angels. Keep an eye on him. The bigger...
