    Bioload ??

First of all, it is not 1" to 1". It is 1" to 1 gallon. That is 1 inch of fish for every gallon of water. Meaning if you have a 55 gallon tank, you could have 55 inches of fish. But the 1 to 1 rule is for fresh water. Saltwater is 1" of fish for every 5 gallons of water. So theoretically in a 55...

Will clean up crew live with no algae?

Even though you wont be able to see it, there will be algae there. The snails will find it. The hermits will eat any leftover food that isnt eaten. If there are no fish in your tank yet, then you will have to put a little food in for the hermits.

    Too much flow for nano??

I have the same Nano cube. I wouldn't worry about the water movement in that thing. Since it's such a small cube, it doesn't take much power to move the water around in that thing. I think the GPH is more important when you get up into the bigger tanks where you have a lot of water to move...

    Having problems

How many fish were in the tank beofre you added the new ones and how many new ones did you add? You should only add one or two fish at a time so that your bacteria can catch up to your bio-load. Adding too many fish at once can increase your ammonia too fast.

Put it in now. You only need to let it sit when you have an established tank and you are going to do a water change. You are just starting up so there will be no problem. You can put it all in, sand, rock and water.

    what is fuge?

fuge is short for refugium. a refugium is a place where you allow alge to grwo, macralgae that is. Algae lives on nitrates which is bad for fish. So having a refugium with macroalgae in it, helps to take the nitrates out of your water. Chaeto is a type of macroalgae.

First water change with my clowns...they freaked a little

If you had a sump, you would never have to disrupt your tank. just syphon the water out of the sump and pour the new water right back into the sump. I don't even bother heating the new water. I leave the water get to room temperature and just pour it into the sump. At the most, the water...

    Talk about a hitch hiker

So I'm looking in my tank this morning and noticing how my Pink tipped anemone is really thriving. I notice something on the sand below the anemone and it kind of resembled a common would tick like you would find on a dog. After looking closer, I thought, that really does look like a tick. So I...

Even if you dont have enough containers, use 5 gallon buckets. Just line them with plastic trash bags first, fill with water and then tie the bag shut. Some LFS even sell the buckets.
