    corals exposed to air --??????

They get exposed in nature at low tide. If they naturally occur near the surface in nature (some do some dont for that very reason) then exposure during changes probably wont be a problem. They do need to stay wet, they dont live high enough to not get wave splash even at lowest tide levels.

My Bristletooth Tomini is an idiot

Those mostly like filamentous microalgae. Most Koles are like lawnmowers, they do ok in tanks 55 and over. Probably won't get along with yours though.

    bristle worms and corals

IMHO they dont harm them directly that I know of, but thier activity kinda does. They drop detrious on them, dig underneath them, things like that. Beef up your cleaning crew with something that also eats detrious.

like a worm looking thing in live rocks.

There's such a thing as a bristle worm trap, they dont work very well. You need a better cleaning crew, or the worms may take over the tank.

    SALE 25% off ...What!?

I assumed it was an on going problem at the store because it was several diferent species, but even still it could have indeed been the shipper. Maybe it turned out that thier freight prices were lower because the ship to many in a bag. Good point.

    Attention all tang experts

@ Dogstar, I guess every tank is different like you said. Scopas is the only tang I ever had that didn't get aggressive. :hilarious This thread should have been a yes no maybe poll

    Attention all tang experts

I'm gonna afree with Ninjamini, I have a friend that has had an Oscar, now 8", and a red comet feeder goldfish together in a 15 gallon for many years. This sort of thing hardly is proof positive that it will ever work for anyone else. Also, I've been alive for 49 years, this doesn't prove I've...

92 Gal Bow front tank leaking!!!!

The best way is to remove all the sealer and replace it. Dont try to "fix the leak". Bow fronts have good frames for this so it shouldn't be that bad. You can get a big tube and gun at Home Depot for less than a little tube at lfs. fishnerd may be right, people tend to tighten them too far. The...

    Moving Tank Need Help.

Yeah just enough to keep it wet, not at all sloshy. The wet sand actually helps keep the bottom seams stable. LFS owners wreck tanks that way all the time, "we were only gonna move it a few feet" they say. Not that lfs guys are dumb, but they have a much greater occurence of having to move one.

    Duster Colony Compatibility?

They usually dont eat live ones. Use a regular sw shipper, transporting livestock is best left to the pros. It will be cheaper and more rewarding in the long run.

    sick clownfish

Is it a lump or more like a string or worm kinda thing? Heres a good Lymphocystis page I found, the mouth is a very common place for this to occur. http://www.wetwebmedia.com/lymphfaqs.htm Good luck

    Time Sensitive Question… Please Help…

I took my daughter to where I worked ( a really big livestock distributor) when she was about 6. She cut her finger so I went to get a bandage. When I came back she was gone, I found her holding her cut finger in the Nurse Sharks' tank. She thought it would fix it for her.

    Harlequin Shrimp reef safe?

They like all that are like chocolate chip, not serpents or brittles. The stuff I fed them was Smelt. Very cheap at the grocery store. I would soak it in liquid food for reef tank verts. Usually by the time they get bought, they're hungry enough to eat it without any hesitation.

    Moving Tank Need Help.

Dont try to move a glass tank with water in it, especially not a bow front. It only needs to twist about 1/16" to leak.

Can I have 2 different schools of chromis?

IMO 5 each would be ok, start with litte ones and all at once. Won't be a lot more you can put in fish number wise. Litte nano fish, Scopas Tang, pair of clowns, etc.

    Help! Dog Face won't unpuff!

Never lift them out, naughty lfs guy . You should just leave him alone ( as I see you did)There is a little lever in side their "beak". Its on the top. You can gently open it with the clip of a Bic pen cap while holding them under. I worked at a distributor and they'd come in inflated all the...

    Size tank for foxface

The smaller they are when caught, the less venemous they will end up being. Almost always enough to hurt a lot. Ask somebody from a zoo or public aquatium what to do. Find out before you get them, there is no 24 hour emergency foxface hotline.

    blue/green chromis

Yep, odd numbers do best, they're schooling fish. Even numbers result in them going into pairing off type behaviors. Being a little more specific on the tank mates would help, but IMO 5 is cool. If you oe dies and you end up with an even number just watch them. Most of the time if things are...
