I use a sponge to clean my skimmer. I remove the collection cup. Empty it. Clean it. Then i wipe off the inside chamber of the skimmer. I dont have the AquaC but all skimmers have the same basic idea i think.

I agree. Use the drip method. I know of a few people who ONLY acclimate that way and have great success.

Can anyone reccomend a good test kit for this? Im gonna pick one up today and check my tank cuz my algae doesnt seem like its going away.

Yea if it says dont use it on aquariums then dont. I think that kind of sand clumps up when it gets wet. You want sand that stays powdery when wet if you get what im saying. I believe the vinegar test has something to do with pouring it on a sample and it will fizz. Something like that.

It took about a month to get my nitrates from 80 to 10. It was 20 for about 3 weeks. Finally i got it to 10. I did one big change and a few small changes.

Ive been using Red Sea. No probs with it so far so i guess ill stick with it. I paid around $40 for a 200 gallon bucket. :happyfish

Kinda a dumb question but i gotta ask Do i need to get the snails off the high part of the tank when i do my change?

Copepods and certain worms are beneficial to a saltwater tank. I havent bought LS from this site but I trust this site and their products.

Havent noticed a morph from my emerald yet. My cleaner shrimp molted the other day. It was kinda cool to see. I thought he was dead and then he came out from his rock to say hi when i was lookin in the tank. :D

When will this brown crap get outta my tank? It seems like its been there forever. My tank has been cycled for almost 3 weeks. The clean up crew seems to be doing a good job but it seems like its coming right back. Not coming back bad like it was though.

Yea it was pretty hot yesterdya and today. I noticed my temp was up to 83. So i turned down the heater to 79 and now it stays between 80-82.
