OH CRAP. just saw you said crushed coral. do yourself a huge favor. do everything i said above AND remove that crushed coral and replace with carib sand asap. you dont have to tear apart your reef to do this. and you dont have to buy live sand so it is not an expensive change. the +'s far out...

how does your tank look??? if you dont have algaes all over the place and your sand stays clean then no you dont. i think some people go crazy on the clean up crew stuff. out of 1300+ gallons i would say i have around 200 turbos and maybe 50 various hermits. tanks stay spotless.

looking good. a quick note for you. be careful where you put that GSP. it grows like a weed once established and will quickly take over your rock work if not kept in check

it will move around quite a bit until it finds a place that it is happy. leave it for a few days and see what happens. If it is healthy it will not stay in a place were it is not receiving proper conditions

    Dead Polyps!!!

you dont have to scrape the rock but i would. if there are no other coral on the rock just take it out and blast it with the hose and give it a good scrub. if there are other corals on the rock i would atleast remove the rock and razor off what i could depending on tank size it should not be a...

    Overflow to Sump Questions PICS

it will work fine. i would not call it ideal but it will work. I would do a split return to allow for more flow options. I would also have my overflows going into filter socks. you will have to work with the bends on the pipeing to give you the best flow in order to reduce noise. the above...

Anyone ever frag a pavona coral like this?

frag away. very hardy over all and easy to frag. your best off using a dremel on low spead to avoid to much heat transer or by using a extension so you can use a water drip to keep it cool. or if you dont have any of that you can just break off a peice. should not have any trouble.

    Lighting for 120

lighting combo should be good enough. i would say use redaium bulbs for good color and growth but make sure those ballast are pulse start NOT probe. i would also consider adding some sort of actinics just for the dusk to dawn cycle. IE" 7am moon lights off and actinics on, 9am halide one on...
